TEN YEAR VISION BRINGS CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH, SPRINGHILL LOUISIANA A NEW ALLEN QUANTUM ORGAN

Over ten years ago, a decision was made to start an organ fund and begin researching what was available and applicable to the church's well-rounded music program.   Communication began with  The Church Organ Group of Metairie, Louisiana.  For much of this time, Ray Peebles has been the Allen representative for The Church Organ Group in the area and has been very patient with the church in determining the needs of the congregation while staying within the budget of the organ project.

After the first Sunday using the NEW ORGAN Our Pastor, Dr. Harvey said, “along with the

usual comments”, “beautiful”, “wonderful”, “uplifting”, “it wasn’t too loud”, the most frequent comment heard was, “I didn’t realize how much we needed a new organ until I heard this one”.

The new Q-260 Allen Organ contains 2 manuals, AGO pedalboard, 34 speaking stops/136 voices and an Allen Ensemble that adds over 200 additional MIDI voices. The organ also features an antiphonal, or balcony organ displaying surround sound for prayerful times and great support for congregational singing.

Chris Turner, Minister of music, stated "We are very happy to have a wonderful organ that is very versatile, to all styles of music and will last for many years to come." Stewardship has been well served in our endorsement of Allen.

The dedicatory program was held on April 24, 2005 at 4:30 in the afternoon. Featured in the program was Mr. Brook Boddie, organist at Broadmoor Baptist church of Shreveport. Brook’s playing and his presence was enthusiastically received by those in attendance.
