The Church
Organ Group, based in
Esquipulas is the
site of the famous “Shrine of the Black Christ” which thousands of pilgrams
from around the world visit annually.
Esquipulas
was proclaimed “the spiritual center of Central America” by Pope John Paul II
in 1995 while visiting the Basilica for the 500th anniversary of the
Shrine.
The Church
Organ Group began its relationship with the people of Esquipilas in 1974 when
the Basilica acquired it’s first Allen organ from the Church Organ
Group.
This organ
remains in the chapel at the Basilica and is in daily use.

Organ arrives at last.

Installation is completed by the staff
of the Basilica.
Tonal Finishing by Kent Ganucheau of the Church Organ Group
“The organ was joyfully
received. You should hear the sound. I am thrilled and so are many people!”
